Poles are high on the list of things any racer strives for and she is certainly no exception. She is pursuing her passion and looking forward to a future in motorsport.
Primarily based out of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Taegen races karts on a national level in the ROK Shifter and Senior classes. She is partnered with Energy Course North America and Brian Graham Racing.
This past year, Taegen finished 8th at the Canadian National Karting Championships and was 3rd overall in the Canadian Ron Fellows Karting Challenge. This year was the first time she had competed in the ROK Shifter category, after moving up from Rotax DD2 in 2017 (where she finished 3rd overall in the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship). She was also selected as a W Series Qualifying Driver, one of only 54 women worldwide to do so and one of two Canadians.
Away from the track, Taegen is currently completing an internship as a Quality Controls Engineer and Geomechanical Lab Technician as part of her Bachelor of Applied Science in Metallurgical Engineering at Queen’s University. She is also a black belt in karate, the President of Queen’s FIRST Robotics Club, a tutor for Aboriginal Access to Engineering, and the Lead of FIRST Lego League for W.A.F.F.L.E.S. Community Robotics.
